In order to investigate the relationship between the variables in the long run, panel causality test is used. Empirical results demonstrate the existence of co-integration between variables. Also, results show that economic growth and energy consumption have positive effect and nuclear and renewable energy have negative effect on the emission of carbon dioxide, respectively. Analysis of causality in the short term indicates that bidirectional causality exists between carbon dioxide emissions and economic growth, carbon dioxide emissions and nuclear energy consumption, and carbon dioxide emissions and energy consumption. Also, a unidirectional causality between carbon dioxide emissions and renewable energy consumption exists. Furthermore, in the long-run, there are bilateral causalities from economic growth, energy consumption, renewable energy consumption and nuclear energy consumption to carbon dioxide emission.
