fa بررسی رابطه علی بین تنوع انرژی و رشد تولید ناخالص داخلی: کاربرد آزمون علیت غیرخطی مبتنی بر شبکه عصبی در ایران Investigating the Causal Relationship between Energy Diversification and GDP Growth: Application of a Neural Network-Based Nonlinear Causality Test in Iran اقتصاد انرژي Energy Economic پژوهشي Research تنوع‌بخشی به سبد انرژی به‌عنوان یک ضرورت راهبردی در اقتصادهای وابسته به سوخت‌های فسیلی از جمله ایران، نقشی اساسی در کاهش وابستگی ساختاری و دستیابی به رشد اقتصادی پایدار ایفا می‌کند. پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی رابطه علّی میان شاخص تنوع انرژی و رشد اقتصادی در ایران طی دوره زمانی ۱۳۴۹ تا ۱۴۰۲ انجام شده است. برای این منظور، از رویکردی نوین و غیرخطی در آزمون علیت گرنجر مبتنی بر شبکه‌های عصبی عمیق استفاده شده است، بدین صورت که در چارچوبی از نوع پنجره لغزان، عملکرد سه مدل یادگیری ماشین (MLP، LSTM و GRU) در پیش‌بینی هر یک از متغیرها، ابتدا تنها براساس وقفه‌های همان متغیر و سپس با افزودن وقفه‌های متغیر دیگر ارزیابی شده است. تفاوت در دقت پیش‌بینی میان این دو حالت، با استفاده از شاخص شدت علیت Ft محاسبه و آزمون معناداری آن با آزمون ویلکاکسون انجام گرفته است. نتایج نشان می‌دهد که افزودن شاخص تنوع انرژی به ورودی مدل‌های پیش‌بینی رشد اقتصادی، به‌طور معناداری موجب بهبود عملکرد مدل‌ها شده است؛ به‌ویژه در مدل‌های LSTM و GRU، خطای پیش‌بینی MSE به‌ترتیب حدود ۴۶ و ۳۹ درصد کاهش یافته و مقادیر اندازه اثر کوهن نیز به‌ترتیب برابر با 90/3 و 15/4 گزارش شده است که بیانگر اثر بسیار بزرگ و قابل‌توجه ورود متغیر تنوع انرژی می‌باشد. در مقابل، ورود رشد اقتصادی به مدل‌های پیش‌بینی تنوع انرژی نه‌تنها منجر به کاهش خطا نگردیده، بلکه در برخی موارد موجب افزایش آن نیز شده است؛ به‌گونه‌ای که در مدل LSTM، مقدار اندازه اثر کوهن منفی گزارش شده است. همچنین تحلیل پویای علیت نشان داد که شدت رابطه رشد اقتصادی به تنوع انرژی در طول زمان متغیر بوده و در برخی دوره‌ها به‌دلیل تغییرات سیاستی و ساختاری افزایش یافته است. نتایج نشان می‌دهد رویکرد غیرخطی مبتنی بر شبکه‌های عصبی، نسبت به روش‌های سنتی خطی، توان بالاتری در شناسایی روابط پیچیده و متغیر در زمان میان تنوع انرژی و رشد اقتصادی دارد. یافته‌ها فرضیه رشد را تأیید می‌کنند و نشان می‌دهند تنوع انرژی می‌تواند محرک رشد اقتصادی در ایران باشد. بنابراین، توصیه می‌شود سیاست‌گذاران با حمایت نهادی و سرمایه‌گذاری در انرژی‌های تجدیدپذیر مسیر توسعه پایدار را تقویت کنند. طبقه بندی JEL: C45، C22، Q43، Q56، O13. کلیدواژه‌ها: تنوع انرژی، رشد اقتصادی، علیت گرنجر غیرخطی، یادگیری ماشین، شبکه عصبی.   Energy diversification, as a strategic necessity in fossil fuel-dependent economies like Iran, plays an important role in reducing structural dependency and achieving sustainable economic growth. This study discusses the causal relationship between the energy diversification index and economic growth in Iran over the period 1970–2023. A novel nonlinear approach based on deep neural networks is employed within a sliding window framework. The performance of three machine learning models (MLP, LSTM, and GRU) is assessed in predicting each variable (economic growth and energy diversification), first using only its own lags, and then by adding the lags of the other variable. The difference in prediction accuracy is quantified using a causality intensity index (Ft) and its significance is tested via the Wilcoxon test. Results reveal that including energy diversification as an input significantly improves the prediction of economic growth—particularly in LSTM and GRU models, where MSE dropped by approximately 46% and 39%, respectively, and Cohen’s d values reached 3.90 and 4.15, indicating very large effects. In contrast, adding economic growth to models predicting energy diversification did not improve, and sometimes worsened, model performance—evidenced by a negative Cohen’s d in the LSTM model. Dynamic analysis also showed that the strength of causality from economic growth to energy diversification varied over time, intensifying during periods of structural or policy change. Overall, the nonlinear neural network approach proved superior to traditional linear methods in capturing complex and time-varying relationships between energy diversification and economic growth. Advanced models like LSTM and GRU yielded stronger and more accurate causal insights. The findings support the "growth hypothesis," indicating that energy diversification can act as a driver of economic growth in Iran. Accordingly, policymakers are advised to foster institutional support and invest in renewable energy to promote sustainable development. JEL Classification: C45, C22, Q43, Q56, O13.
