Evaluating the Efficiency of Selected Iranian Petrochemical Companies Using Dynamic Network Data Envelopment Analysis Approach

Efficiency assessment is always of particular importance with respect to various indicators. There are various techniques for evaluating petrochemical companies, among which, the data envelopment analysis technique is one of the best techniques that can be used to calculate the relative efficiency of decision-making units with network structures. In this article, ten petrochemical companies listed on the Iranian Stock Exchange were analyzed. These companies were measured in terms of financial performance and sustainable development, and their relative efficiency was calculated during the years 2022-2023. Accordingly, Aria Sasol Petrochemical Company and Maroon were recognized as efficient companies in all stages in terms of financial and sustainable development. After considering all factors and indicators, these two companies ranked first and second among petrochemical companies listed on the Iranian Stock Exchange, and then Jam Company was ranked third. According to the results obtained, only Maroon Petrochemical Company was recognized as efficient in all areas and years. The results also showed that four companies were financially efficient in the period under study. In the overall conclusion about the performance of the companies, Maroon ranked first, Jam ranked second, and Zagros ranked third.
