Abstract: (33 Views)
Oil and gas production in many of Iran’s developed fields have entered the second half of its lifecycle, the implementation of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) techniques are inevitable to ensure sustainable production and maximize economic benefits. Due to the significance of this matter, it is essential to establish dedicated contracts specifically governing this phase of the reservoir’s life cycle. These contracts require distinct terms and conditions tailored to the unique nature of EOR/IOR operations. In this paper investigates Iran’s upstream oil contracts, tracing their evolution then extracts the contractual and lagal requirements of each model. In addition, recommendations for structuring EOR/IOR contracts are presented based on contractual obligations derived from Iran's Laws & Regulations. The findings of this study indicates that, due to the fundamental differences between EOR/IOR operations and other production phases, distinct contractual requirements must be formulated.
